I haven't always been blessed with the luxury of having a little maroon book that lets you into loads of countries (we are talking a British passport here) - so when I finally had mine it meant Paris for the day was a viable trip to consider. We arrived just after 7am and my goodness was it freezing. I had attempted to be slightly fashionable with my ripped knee jeans but that was probably the worst idea out there. We started walking and found the Arc de Triomphe, almost got ridden over 13 times while trying to cross the road, but we made it to a coffee shop where we had coffee and croissants to start off our french experience. Next we headed off to towards The Louvre to find the Mona Lisa and pretend to be art experts (we also got in for free for being under-25 EU Passport holders, booya!). By this time I was well and truly enthusiastic with the camera and getting right back into my 'Street Photography' zone, felt like I was back at college and on the prowl for interesting scenes happening before my eyes. Obviously we stopped for crepes during this time too. After this we made our way up the Seine River hoping to see if we could find the hunchback of Notre-Dame however all we found were a few pigeons that like to sit on your head. Although an interesting detail I discovered was that the architects had wanted us to see the building as symmetrical but on closer inspection you notice that every door and window are actually different! We had saved the good old Eiffel Tower for last in order to watch the sunset from way on up top. I had been made to down a mini bottle of champagne that I had in bag as it wasn’t allowed through the gate however that didn’t make me feel too fantastic since we had decided to take the stairs! But the view was just magnificent from the top (2nd base as it was winter). Once the sun had gone and the even colder temperatures arrived we decided it was dinner time before we headed back to england. So it is possible. Paris in one day. You could probably guess that this was all my mom’s idea so it’s all thanks to her for our last little family trip. What a day!
